Margene Edna Goettel, 97, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Thursday, April 9th, 2020. Margene was born in Hooker, Oklahoma on April 9, 1923, a daughter of the late Lucy Mae (Goodenough) and Milton Emos Barton. Survivors include two daughters, Rae Jean Matney (Jerry), of Salina, Kansas, Lynn Rome (James), of Mentor, Kansas; 5 grandchildren, Troy Matney, Melanie Booher, Travis Rome, Kevin Rome, Joe Goettel; 10 great grandchildren, Danielle Loder, Paige Rome, Cole Booher, Cailin Knight, Cadee Booher, Kelly Goettel, Kevin Goettel, Shelbi Vidaurri, Lana Matney, Jim Matney; 5 great great grandchildren, Trace, Savanna, Kylie, Jacee, Jacob; 2 great great great grandchildren, Harper, Nayla; and many other family members. She is preceded in death by her son, Phil Goettel; grandchild, Brian Goettel; great grandchild, Nicole Booher; brothers, Leslie Barton, Delmar Barton, Athol Barton; sisters, Edith Calvert, Lola Barton, Bernice Squires. Cremation has been chosen and a memorial service will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Disease & Related Disorders- Topeka Chapter, in care of Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, 500 S. Ohio, Salina, Kansas.
