Salina, Kansas Marvin Eugene 'Jack' Worman Marvin Eugene 'Jack' Worman, 78, of Salina died peacefully in his sleep on Friday, July 20, 2012. He was born on November 29, 1933, the son of Marvin and Sylvia (Parson) Worman in Gypsum, Kansas. Jack served his country with the United States Army and the Army Reserves and spent time stationed in Alaska. He then spent his career with Sears & Roebuck and Graves Truck Line but he found his true life's work making saddlery and riding equipment in Worman's Harness Shop. He was also a long-time member of the Kansas Draft Horse and Mule Association and Christ the King Lutheran Church. He was joined in marriage to his wife of over 50 years, Ruth, in Rising City, Nebraska, on November 9, 1958. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Mike Worman. Survivors include his wife Ruth (Schroeder); his daughter, Michelle Stephenson; a brother, Frank (Dedra); his sisters, Norma Rae (Dale) Faelber, Pat (Dwight) Conley, and Dyretha (Jim) Hall; his grandson, Adam (Rachael) Stephenson; his granddaughters, Colby (Michael) Ritter and Jace Stephenson; his great-grandchildren, Baylor Jack Ritter, Aiden Parker Stephenson, and two soon to arrive. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and two beloved mules: Henry and Sam. Jack was known by many and loved by all. Those that had the great fortune to be part of his life know what a kind and generous man he was. He would never turn down a friendly conversation and anyone that spent time with him could never seem to get enough of his presence. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends but his legacy of generosity and friendliness will forever by remembered by those close to him. A memorial celebrating his life will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, July 23 at Christ the King Lutheran Church with a reception to follow in the Fellowship Hall.
