Mary Jo Bussart

Mary Jo Bussart, 84, of Abilene, Kansas passed away peacefully in her sleep, Sunday, may 10th, 2026.

Mary Jo was born March 19, 1942 in Minneapolis, Kansas to John Wesley and Laura Myrtle (Phillips) Bussart.

Mary Jo loved her children, grandchildren, and her great grandchildren. She loved to crochet Afghan blankets, watch her favorite soaps and game shows, and listen to classic country music.

After retiring Mary Jo loved watching her grandchildren after school, never missing an opportunity to be a part of their lives.

Survivors include her daughter, Brenda Jamison; honorary son and grandson, Caleb A Jamison; honorary daughter/granddaughter, Brittany Hanson; grandson’s, Shawn Jamison (Andrea); grandson Kody Bowers; Debra Bowers; Cynthia Jamison; granddaughter, Teea Jamison; grandson, Bradley N Jamison (Alanie); Reilly Hanson (Hunter).

Great grandchildren, Chase and Olivia Hanson, Remmington Jamison, Heaven Garcia, Emma Parsons, Bradley D, Braxton, Brooklynn, Cadence Jamison, Ayden Bowers (Noah); step great grandchildren, Landon and Liam Wyers; and her 1st husband, Leslie D Jamison.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Leon, John (Jackie), Charles (Charlie), Donald “Don”; her sister, Ernestine Malek; son, Bradley “Brad” Jamison; son-in-law, Bruce Bowers, and her ex-husband, Ronald Jamison.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, May 20th, 2026 at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home.

The family requests donations be made out to Chase and Olivia’s College Fund in care of Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home.
