Mary Louise Koch Mary Louise Koch, 76, went to be with her Lord, Saturday, February 1, 2014. She was born January 8, 1938 to the late Goldie and Hill DeMent in Bunston, Missouri. Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Robert 'Bob' Koch; four children, Diane Mannebach of Hoisington, Kansas; Nada Ingalsbe (Kennan) of St. George, Kansas, James 'Jim' Koch (Marjie) of Salina, Kansas, Robert 'Bobby' Koch (Gena) of Salina, Kansas; sister, Claudine Smit (Jeff) of McPherson, Kansas; brother, Jim B. DeMent of Conover, North Carolina; 19 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and her loving, faithful and spoiled Shih Tzu 'Sharlee.' Mary was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Lalah Aase; brothers, John L. DeMent, Hill DeMent Jr., Bill DeMent. With patience and prayer, Mary lovingly raised her 4 children and sister as a stay-at-home mom. She helped raise many other children by babysitting and keeping her home and heart open to all neighborhood children and friends of her children. Later, she worked at Tony's Pizza and retired from Kansas Vocational Rehabilitation Center. Mary was involved in Girl Scouts and was an active member of the First Christian Church 'Disciples of Christ.' Mary never knew a stranger. Whether it be shopping, visiting with friends and loved ones or just going about her day to day life, she was a source of spiritual strength, kindness and words of encouragement. Her prayers, cheerful blessings, words of kindness, joy and hugs will be missed but not forgotten. Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 5th, from 9:00 am - 8:00 pm at Carlson - Geisendorf Funeral Home with family present from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the funeral home. A Funeral service celebrating Mary's life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 6th at First Christian Church, 2727 E. Crawford, Salina, Kansas with Rev. Greg Rea officiating. Burial will follow at Gypsum Hill Cemetery Salina, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Gaucher's Foundation, 2227 Idlewood Road, Suite 6 , Tucker, Georgia, 30084, www.gaucherdisease.org in honor of Mary's great granddaughter, Alexa Ingalsbe with Type III or the Salina Emergency Aid Food Bank 255 S Chicago St, Salina, Kansas 67401.
