Mary Helen Mendez of Salina, Kansas, was called home to be with the Lord on August 30, 2026.

Mary was born on July 29, 1961 in San Antonio, Texas to Richard and Eulalia Mendez. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Richard Mendez (Rocky); sisters, Diana Collins and Silvia Bobadilla; granddaughter, Galazia Niehaus, with whom she rejoices to join in heaven.

Mary is survived by daughter, Jennifer Niehaus and husband Dean, daughter, Angela Pelico and husband, Alex; son, Dustin Mendez and wife, Leslie; 11 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Irene Duke and husband Clinton; and brother, Gilbert Mendez; who take comfort, hope and faith in assurance of a glorious reunion in the presence of the Lord.

Mary enjoyed volunteering in the community, especially helping the elderly and infirm. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and family, and always had a sense of humor. But above all else, Mary was a devoted follower of the Lord, Jesus Christ in whose faith guided every step of her life.

John 3:16; For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.

Graveside services will be at 10:00 am, Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at Gypsum Hill Cemetery
