Michael Warhurst

Salina, KS Michael Warhurst Michael R. Warhurst, of Salina, passed away Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Salina Regional Health Center following a short illness. Michael was born on January 6, 1946 in Emporia, Kansas to the late Roy Warhurst and Francis (Friesian) Warhurst. He graduated from Pomona High School in 1963 and attended Emporia State University majoring in business. He managed two hardware stores for seventeen years in Kansas City and Las Vegas. His real passion was cooking and he was a cook at the Elks Country Club in Abilene and the Ramada Inn of Salina. His last job was a Quality Control Tech at Schwan's for thirteen years. Michael had been a resident at Kenwood View Nursing Home for the last eleven years following a stroke in 2001. Michael was preceded in death by his mother, father, and one brother Steven. He is survived by one brother Daniel of Denver, Colorado and three aunts. He will be cremated and private services will be held at a later date In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kenwood View Nursing Home 900 Elmhurst Blvd, Salina, Kansas 67401.
