Nova D. Atwood

Nova D. Atwood, 92, of Salina, passed away Monday, September 15th, at Salina Regional Health Center. Nova was born in Oswego, Kansas on March 20, 1922, son of the late Lena J. (Robison) and Nova Thomas Atwood. He retired after 32 years from the USDA as a Soil Conservationist/Economist and he was a member of the National Association of Federal Employees. Nova was a member of the First Christian Church Salina, Kansas. Survivors include Son, Darroll Atwood and wife, Lanis of Ozawkie, Kansas; daughter-in-law , Sherrie Atwood, of Salina, Kansas; Granddaughter, Jennifer Atwood, of Denver, Colorado; brother, Dr. Dale Atwood, of Topeka, Kansas. He is preceded by his wife, Dorothy (Jones) Atwood, and son, Doyle D. Atwood. At the family's request there will be no visitation. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, September 19, 2014 at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, Salina, Kansas, with Rev. Greg Rea officiating. Burial will follow at Gypsum Hill Cemetery Salina, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church, 2727 E. Crawford, Salina, Kansas 67401.
