Obituary for John W. Ramsey

Mr. John W. Ramsey, 85, of Salina passed away, Friday January 26, 2018 at his residence.

He was born in Talmage, Kansas on October 17, 1932, the son of Leon and Ruth Ardith (Haddock) Ramsey. He graduated from high school at Chapman, Kansas in 1950.

He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. After his service, he worked several careers in construction, farming and maintenance.

On December 1, 1950 he married Bernice Marie Machulda in Carlton, Kansas and she precedes him in death

John is survived by his daughter, Jada A. Ramsey of Gladstone, Missouri; son, Jon A. Ramsey and his wife Sharlene and their children, Bailey and Elyse all of Lindsborg, Kansas; sisters, Emma Jane Littlejohn of Salina, Kansas, Rose Marie White and husband Jim of Midland, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place.

The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 1st, at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home.

Private family graveside services will be held at Prairie Dale Cemetery at Talmage, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tammy Walker Cancer Center, 511 S. Santa Fe Ave., Salina, Kansas 67401 or the Salina Animal Shelter, 329 N. 2nd Salina, Kansas 67401.
