Obituary

Patrick Francis Lynch, 76, of Salina, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.

Patrick was born on April 11, 1950, in New York City to Joseph and Eleanor (Wray) Lynch. The oldest of seven children, he grew up in Merrick, New York, where he developed a lifelong love of sports. A gifted athlete, Patrick excelled in football and wrestling at Chaminade High School before attending Columbia University, where he became an All-American wrestler and served as captain of the wrestling team.

After earning his MBA from New York University, Patrick built an exceptional career on Wall Street. He was among the first hires at Commodities Corporation in the 1980s before serving as Senior Vice President of Government Securities Trading at UBS and later as Executive Vice President overseeing Fixed Income Trading at Yamaichi International America. Throughout his career, he also held a number of sales and consulting positions. Beyond his deep knowledge of the financial markets, Patrick earned the admiration and respect of colleagues across the industry, who valued not only his expertise but also his integrity and friendship.

Patrick will be remembered for his generosity, his sharp wit and wicked sense of humor, his unwavering determination, and his fearless spirit of adventure. He approached life with enthusiasm and left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

He is survived by his son, Colin Lynch (Erik Maki) of Winthrop, Massachusetts; his beloved grandson, Liam Maki Lynch; his sisters, Shannon Lynch of Long Island, New York, Keelin Lynch of Connecticut, and Meghan Lynch Plamondon (Yvan) of Quebec, Canada; and his brothers, Michael Lynch (Susan) of Connecticut, Daniel Lynch of Virginia, and William Lynch (Nanda) of Long Island, New York, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Peter Lynch.

A memorial service will be held later this summer in Boston, Massachusetts.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Centro Ann Sullivan del Perú, a nonprofit educational organization dedicated to improving the lives of children and adults with developmental and other disabilities, a mission that was especially meaningful to Patrick.
