Paul F. Hederstedt, 86, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, January 8th, at Salina Regional Health Center. Paul was born in Kipp, Kansas on October 2, 1926, the only child of the late Ruth (Hovander) and Fred Hederstedt. He worked as an insurance representative and farmer, and was also employed at the Western Auto Distribution Center. In retirement, until age 78, he enjoyed working alongside his son at Randy's Floor Covering. Paul was a long-time member of First Covenant Church and, more recently, Salina Heights Christian Church. Over the years, he served as a Sunday school secretary, deacon, trustee, and usher. Paul will be remembered for his trust in God, his devotion to his wife and love for his family, his warm smile and sense of humor, and willingness to help others in need. He liked to comment that the two loves of his life, his wife Luava and his Model T Ford, were born in the same year. He liked to play dominoes, Chinese checkers, and ping-pong. Paul enjoyed connecting with other license plate collectors and was a member of the international Automobile License Plate Collectors Assn. as well as the Kansas License Plate Collectors Assn. Paul is survived by his wife of 60 years, Luava (Fullmer) and three children: Randy (Chris) of Abilene, Roger (Julie), of Littleton, Colorado, and Sharon (John) Lubin, of Flower Mound, Texas. There are 11 grandchildren: Laura (Josh Phelps) and Emily (Sam Reddy), Abilene; Beth (Chris Ade), Solomon; Steve Hederstedt, Harrisonburg, Virginia; Eric Hederstedt, Holland, Michigan; Jeff Lubin, Midwest City, Oklahoma; Sydney, Sareka, Sheridan, and Simone Lubin, Flower Mound, Texas; Heidi (Mike Wojtowicz), Long Beach, California. The 16 great-grandchildren are: Caleb, Joel, Olivia, Katie Jo, and Roy Phelps; Isaac, Titus, Haley and Peter Reddy; Timothy and Zoe Ade; Hannah, Jakub, Nikolaus, Jessica and Emily Wojtowicz. Visitation with family will be Friday, January 11, 5:00-7:00 p.m., at Salina Heights Christian Church, 801 E Cloud. The memorial service will be Saturday, January 12, 2:00 p.m., also at Salina Heights Christian Church. In accordance with Paul's wishes, memorial contributions may be made to the following: Salina Heights Christian Church Missions Fund, Abilene Bible Baptist Church Building Fund, or Church Resource Ministries, with checks sent in care of: Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, 500 S Ohio St, Salina.
