Mrs. Rachel Sue Dean passed away Monday, October 08, 2012 at Kay Pogue Hospice Center of Salina. Sue was born April 14, 1935 in McPherson, Kansas, daughter of the late Charles and Margaret (Hapgood) Kitching. She is survived by her husband, James Dean; her twin brother, Richard (Glenys) Kitching of Blue Springs, Missouri; sister, Nancy (Kent) Zuercher of Salina, Kansas. She had a great love and admiration for her nieces and nephews, Scott (Connie) Kitching of Blue Springs, Missouri, Sharon (Joe) Castanza of Oak Grove, Missouri, Jeff (Amy) Zuercher and Jenni (Kelly) Davis both of Salina. Sue is also survived by four step-children, James Brian (Janet) Dean, Karin (Jeff) Flanigan, Jennifer Siedschlag and Stephanie (Mike) McCullough. After she graduated from Newton High School in 1953, she was an operator for Southwestern Bell for many years. She also enjoyed many years as a home health provider. Sue was a beautiful artist in both paintings and jewelry, and took art classes at Wichita State and New York City School of Art. She enjoyed working in her yard, riding her bike and hiking the hills and mountains of Colorado where she lived for quite some time. A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2085 Hageman Ave, Salina, Kansas, on Saturday, October, 20, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. My friend, my sister, my wife, my angel.
