Richard Bennett

Salina, KSRichard Merle Bennett On Saturday, December 11th, 2010, at the age of 86, Richard departed to his heavenly home. Richard was born in Deer Creek, IL on October 31, 1924, the son of the late Jesse and Mabel (Siddons) Bennett. Richard was a mechanic for Sid Bacon Clark, and a landlord for over 50 years. He was a member of First Covenant Church Salina, Kansas. On November 29, 1946, Richard married Lila Wann in Marquette, Kansas at the Covenant Church. They were very active in the antiques and collectibles business. He enjoyed spending time with his children and many grandchildren and great grandchildren Survivors include daughter: Connie Adkins and husband Gene of Salina; son: James Bennett and wife Dawnetta of Salina; 5 grandchildren: Robert Bennett, Laura Adkins-Rico, Brian Bennett, Christopher Bennett, Aaron Bennett; 5 great grandchildren: Meagan Krueger and husband Justin, Emily Rico, Brittanie Rico, Dakota Bennett-Kiltz, Raiden Bennett. Richard is preceded in death by his wife: Lila (Wann) Bennett; a son: Donald Edward Bennett; a daughter: Janis Bennett; 2 sisters: Margaret and Isabelle; and a brother: Ed Friends are invited to call on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 from 9 am - 8 pm with the family receiving friends from 6 pm - 8 pm at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, December 16, 2010 at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, Salina, Kansas, with Pastor Edds officiating. Burial will follow at the Marquette Cemetery in Marquette, Kansas. The family requests donations be made to First Covenant Church 2625 E. Magnolia Salina, Kansas or the Pat Robertson 700 Club c/o the Funeral Home.
