Obituary

Rita K. "Kathy" Boyer, 86, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, June 24th, 2026.

Kathy was born in Niles, Kansas on April 23, 1940, a daughter of Fern Zora (Baldwin) and John Thomas Bradley.

Kathy attended grade school at Fairview School, a one-room schoolhouse in Niles, Kansas. She went on to attend high school in Solomon, Kansas, where she met the love of her life, Ronald Charles Boyer. They were married for 63 years, a lifelong partnership built on love, faith, and family.

Ron and Kathy made their home in the Solomon area, where they raised their three sons, Bradley, Russel, and Darin. The couple later moved to Salina, Kansas, and also spent time living in the Colorado Springs, Colorado area, before returning to Salina, where Ron and Kathy retired. Wherever they lived, Kathy made it a home, and she cherished the time spent with family and friends above all else.

In addition to her work as a homemaker, Kathy held a variety of jobs throughout her working years. In 2009, she closed out her working career at Blue Beacon in Salina, where she was a dedicated employee for 14 years.

Kathy was a faithful member of First Church of the Nazarene in Salina, Kansas. Her faith was the foundation of her life, guiding her through both joyful times and difficult ones, and giving her great comfort and peace.

Family and friends meant everything to Kathy. She had a gift for making everyone around her feel welcome, valued, and loved, and she took great joy in gathering with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will be carried on by all who were blessed to call her family or friend.

Kathy was preceded in death by her husband, Ron Boyer; her parents, Fern and John Bradley; her son, Russel Boyer and her sister, Diane Peterson; and her great granddaughter, Paige Boyer.

She is survived by her sons, Bradley Boyer (Darlene), of Peyton, Colorado, and Darin Boyer (Gail) of Salina, Kansas; her sister, Sandy Geske of Kansas City, Missouri; her brother, Michael Bradley (Gayle), of Lake Helen, Florida; 7 grandchildren, Lyle Boyer (Krissy) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Jamie Snow (Jeremy) of Salina, Kansas, Joshua Boyer (Ashley) of Belvoir, Virginia, Brenton Boyer (Grace) of Fort Collins, Colorado, Adam Boyer (Kendall) of Overland Park, Kansas, Zane Heigele of Dallas, Texas, and Logan Heigele of Kansas City, Missouri; 11 great grandchildren, Thayne Boyer, Logan Boyer, Connor Fisher, Blake Fisher, Madison Snow, Kaisen Snow, Alaina Boyer (Daniel Freeman), Bailey Boyer, Clayton Shelby, Emma Boyer, Benjamin Boyer; and one great-great grandchild, Ronin Freeman.

The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 11th at First Church of the Nazarene in Salina, Kansas with Pastor Jon Fillipi officiating.

Kathy will be buried next to her husband at Greenville Cemetery in Niles, Kansas.

The family requests donations be made to First Church of the Nazarene, in care of Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home.
