Ronnie L. Staggs, 77, of Lindsborg, Kansas, passed away Saturday, September 8th. He was born July 9, 1941 in Pawnee, Oklahoma to the late Kenneth and Vida (Bell) Staggs. He came to Lindsborg, Kansas in 1959 to farm and raise livestock with his brother and later brought his mother and siblings from Oklahoma. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He also served as Smoky Hill Township Treasurer. He belonged to the Kansas Cattleman’s Association and a local cooperative. In addition to farming and ranching, he worked at the Marquette Feedlot, as well as Tony’s Pizza for a few years. He last attended Smoky Valley Baptist church. He was a known patron at Russell’s Truck Stop in Salina for many years. Survivors include daughters, Shelley Staggs of Burlington, Kentucky and Kelley Staggs-Brake of Lindsborg; son Ryan Staggs (Dori) of McPherson; brothers, Jim (Joyce) Staggs of Lindsborg, Earnest (Ilene) Staggs of Gladstone, Missouri, and Virgil Staggs of Guthrie, Oklahoma; sisters, Dianna Molinari of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and Betty Ryan of Dewey, Oklahoma. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and god sons. He is preceded in death by his brothers Raymond Bell, Kenneth Staggs Jr. and his sister, Janet Reynolds. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Friday, September 14th, at Smoky Valley Baptist Church, 780 N. Kansas Street, Lindsborg, Kansas, with Pastor Jeff Quigley officiating. Cremation will follow the service.
