Shawn Michael Hynes

Shawn Michael Hynes was born June 18, 1977 in Hays, KS and passed away June 1, 2019 as a result of a car accident in rural Saline County. Shawn grew up and worked in Salina and the surrounding areas. He loved to be outside, working with his hands and tinkering with just about anything and everything. He and was a jack of all trades which led him to owning and operating his own business, Hynes Painting. Survivors include his fiancé, Sue Alverson (New Cambria), sons Tristin, Ethan, Dylan, Porter and Bradyn, mother Mindy Roper-Poage (Mike) of Abilene, step-father Jeff Roper (Ramona) of North Dakota, step-mother, Izene Hynes of Hays. Sisters, Katie (Jason) of Salina and Kelly of Hays, brothers Jamie (Janell) & Dustin (Misty) both of Hays, his pet pig, Azura and his 2 dogs Summer & Ollie. He was preceded in death by his father, Mike and his dear grandma, Alma Miller. Cremation was chosen and there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at 1pm, Saturday, June 8th at Indian Rock Lodge followed by a private family burial in Mt. Hope, KS. Please dress casually and bring your best “Shawn” story to share.
