Sherri Ann Hester Nelson

Sherri Ann Hester Nelson, 70, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, December 20th, 2017. Sherri was born in Okmulgee, Oklahoma on June 15, 1947, a daughter of the late Nona Mae (Johnson) McCormick and Eugene C. Gesell, Sr. She worked as a CNA. On March 1, 1995, Sheldon married Sherri in Salina, Kansas. Survivors include her husband, Sheldon Nelson, of the home; two daughters, Ann Bishop and fianc Michael Shane Wright, of Hutchinson, Kansas; Joni Fowler, of Larned, Kansas; two step daughters, Colleen Stewart, of Leawood, Kansas, Corrine Dix and husband Alan, of Lee's Summit, Missouri and Stockton, Kansas; two step sons, Brian Nelson and wife Sarah, of Leawood, Kansas, Bradon Nelson and wife Tobee, of Kansas City, Missouri; and step-father, James McCormick, of Mt. Hope, Kansas; sister, Charlotte Kaufman and husband Kent, of Inman, Kansas; brother, Eugene C. Gesell Jr. and wife Cynthia, of Newton, Kansas; She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. No visitation will be held as cremation has been chosen. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, December 26th at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, Salina, Kansas.
