Stella Mae Harvey, 74, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Thursday, August 10th, at her residence. Stella was born in Flora, Mississippi on September 14, 1942, the daughter of the late Martha Frankie (Calhoun) Beal and Sam Haggard. She worked as a line attendant for Tony's, cafeteria worker for USD 305, and worked part-time with Service Master. She was a faithful member of the St. John's Missionary Baptist Church in Salina for many years serving as lead usher as well as member of the State Convention Board. She also served when and where ever she was needed to do God's will. On May 14, 1993 in Salina she was united in marriage to Harold Harvey. She is survived by her husband, of the home; son, Tyrone Hopkins, of Salina; sisters, Katie Thomas, of Salina, Janet Delaughter, and husband Derrick of Salina; Kaylor Perkins, and husband Kenneth of Stafford, Virginia; brothers, Sammy Haggard, of Salina, Douglas Haggard and wife Jesse of San Antonio, Texas; step daughter, Audra Harvey; step son, Anthony Harvey, of Lawrence; 3 grandchildren: Rickey, Thadeaus, Mekea; 10 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephew, cousins and special friend, Dawn Housley. Stella was preceded in death by son, Rickey Hopkins; brothers: Henry, Jessie, Louis Haggard; sisters, JoAnn Haggard and Doretha Brown. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. with family receiving friends 6-8 p.m. Aug. 17, at the Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, Salina. A funeral service in her honor will be held 11:00 am, Friday, August 18, 2017 at the St. John's Missionary Baptist Church, in Salina, with Pastor Allen D. Smith officiating. Burial will follow immediately following the service at the Gypsum Hill Cemetery. The family suggest donations to the St. John's Missionary Baptist Church, 215 S. Chicago, Salina, KS 67401.
