Terry Lea Mead, 77, of Palm Harbor, Florida, and formerly of Salina, Kansas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 24, 2026, with her family lovingly by her side.

Terry was born April 1, 1948, in Salina, Kansas, to Clyde and Betty (Greenwood) Robey. She was raised in the home her father built in the countryside near Salina and attended Bennington High School, where she was crowned homecoming queen. In 1968, she married Leonard F. Carney, and together they had two children, Chris and Betsy. She spoke warmly of her time in Germany as an Army officer's wife. Following their divorce, she returned to Salina and worked hard to raise her two children as a devoted single mother.

Throughout her life, Terry was a dedicated secretary and bookkeeper. She also gave generously of her time and talents as a longtime volunteer with OCCK and Choices Network, reflecting her deep compassion for others and her commitment to helping those with special needs.

In 1991, she married Everett Mead. She loved bowling, playing cards, and spending time with friends and family. In her later years, her favorite activity was sitting on the front porch, taking in the beauty of her beloved community through the passing of seasons.

She is survived by her son, Chris Carney, and his wife, Kyla, of Palm Harbor, Florida; her stepdaughter, Lisa Lamer, of Salina, Kansas; fourteen grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Terry was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Betty “Betsy” Carney; her first husband, Leonard Carney; her second husband, Everett Mead; her brother, Tracy Robey; and her stepsons, Sean and Kelly Mead.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 5, at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, February 6, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Gypsum Hill Cemetery.
