Tracie Carlene Walter, daughter of Duane and Eva (Mohler) Wiley, was born December 7, 1961, in Concordia, Kansas. She departed this life on December 8, 2025, in Salina, Kansas, at the age of 64 years and 1 day, following a courageous battle with cancer and other health complications.

Tracie grew up in Mankato, Kansas, and graduated from Mankato High School with the class of 1980. She later attended college in Salina, where she met the love of her life, Frederick “Fritz” Walter. They were united in marriage in September 1982 and made their home in Salina.

Tracie dedicated most of her career to the medical field, working at St. John Hospital as an ICU Heart Monitor Technician and later as a Scrub Technician. She continued her work until her health no longer allowed.

Tracie was an avid pet lover. She and Fritz enjoyed several four-legged babies over their married life.

She is survived by her siblings: Barbara Wiley of Camillo, Australia; Terry Wiley (Arlene) of Guide Rock, Nebraska; stepdaughter Terrie Rankin of Washington State; step-grandchildren Alyssa, A.J., and Benjiman Rankin; nephew Shaun Wiley; niece Lacy Wiley; great-nephew Taylor Wiley (Mackenzie); great-niece Charlotte Wiley; great-nephew Jack Wiley; great-great-niece Millie Wiley; her aunt Marian Turner; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fritz; her parents; and a great-niece, Madelin Wiley.

Visitation will be from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Thursday, December 11, at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, 500 S. Ohio St., Salina.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, December 12, 2025, at Mankato Christian Church, 102 E South St., Mankato, Kansas. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Mankato.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help with expenses or Tammy Walker Cancer Center in care of Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home.
