Wanda Ruth Leonhart

Wanda Ruth Leonhart, 82, of Salina, Kansas, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, June 14th, at Salina Regional Health Center, Kansas. Wanda was born in Abilene, Kansas on March 9, 1934, a daughter of the late Marietta (Kauffman) and Lawrence Roof. She was a devoted listener of the First United Methodist Church radio ministry. In 1955, Wanda married Wilbur Lee Leonhart who preceded in death December 1987. Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Lepping, and husband Bob, of Salina, Kansas; son, Jerry Leonhart, and wife Ginny, of Lawton, Oklahoma; step daughter, Loretta Childers, of Olathe, Kansas; sisters, Phyllis, Holmberg, of California, and Patty Adam, of Abilene, Kansas; brother, Eugene Wilson, and his wife Chris, of Newton, Kansas; as well as grandchildren, Toby (Heavenly) McQuillan, Billy (Jeni) McQuillan, Michelle Swolensky, Travis (Amanda) Swolensky, Bruce (Tela) Leonhart, Robert Lepping, Jr., Sarah Childers, Chris (Leah) Childers, and Jackie Coffelt; 24 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilbur; daughter and son-in-law, Patty and Jerry Griggs; step son, Joe Leonhart; brother, Wayne Roof; and sister, Mary Lou Roof. Visitation will be Thursday, June 16, from 9:00 am – 8:00 pm at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home with family present from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Funeral service will be held at Grand Avenue United Methodist Church, Salina, Kansas, at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 17th, with Doug Birdsong officiating. Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Greenwood Union Cemetery, Hunter, Kansas.
