Warren C. Mannel, 71, of Salina, passed away Friday, August 23, 2019. Warren was born in Rural Lincoln County, Kansas on February 7, 1948, a son of the late Thelma (Cherry) Redman and Paul Ormand Mannel. He grew up in Lincoln County and graduated from Vesper High School. In 1966 Warren and his wife moved to Trona, California. He was employed at a chemical manufacturing plant before returning to Lincoln County to farm and ranch in 1972. In 1980 he became a truck driver and enjoyed traveling the country until his retirement in 2015. Warren married Berniece (Shoemaker) on March 6, 1966. Warren loved the outdoors, enjoyed hunting and fishing with his children and watching their many sports activities. He also loved spending numerous precious moments with his grandchildren. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Survivors include his wife, Berniece Francis (Shoemaker) Mannel; daughter, Terri Mannel of Hutchinson; sons, Daniel Mannel of Lenora; Jason Mannel of Kansas City; Brian Mannel of Liberal; Kevin Mannel (Annette) of Assaria; and Tracy Mannel (Sara) of Wichita; sisters, Pauline Sheldon (Ben) of Pasco, Washington; and Linda (Hyrum) Jensen of Kenwick, Washington; and brothers, Norman Mannel, of Rural Saline County; and Paul "Dutch" Mannel, Jr. of St. John. He is also survived by grandchildren, Zachary, Jacob, Megan, Devon, Elizabeth, Wyatt, Parker, Kelsie, Hallie, Tenley, Nicholas, Jocelyn, Natalie; and great grandchildren, Sophie, Greta, Heinrich. He is preceded in death by his sister, Jeannie Redman. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Monday, August 26th at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, 500 S. Ohio Street, Salina, Kansas. Funeral service will be at 10:00 am, Tuesday, August 27th at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 845 S. Ohio Street, Salina. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Rural Saline County. Memorials may be made to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, sent in care of the funeral home.
