William Andrew Gray, 81, of Salina, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014. He was born Oct. 26, 1932, in the Gray family home southeast of Jamestown, Kansas, to William Inglis and Loretta Gray. His loving wife Yvonda preceded him in death after 59 years of loving partnership and marriage. His two sons and daughter-in-laws, Bill and Linda Gray of Salina, and Stacey Gray and Kim Cochran of Olathe survive him. Additionally he had six grandchildren, Austin and Delaney Gray of Nashville Tennessee, Jordan Gray and Vanessa Rupp of Lee Summit, Mo., Katie Gray Scaduto and Michael Scaduto of Overland Park, Thomas and Kaitlin Gray of Olathe, Casey Shreve of Lawrence, and Brighton Gray of Olathe. He was also blessed with two great grandchildren, William Scaduto and Graycen Scaduto of Overland Park. Bill lived his life centered in family, friends and his church. Belmont Boulevard Christian Church was his church home for over 40 years and all his church family will miss him dearly. He will be greatly missed as an incredible husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Bill will always be remembered as a long-time plumber/pipefitter in the Salina area and was proud to be a member of local 441 of the pipefitters union. He served as scoutmaster of troop 23 for many years and remembered fondly all his scouts. After retiring from plumbing Bill work in maintenance for USD 305 and taught Vo Tech plumbing in Goodland Ks. He loved barbecuing, was a certified BBQ judge and an avid woodcarver who loved to share both his brisket and carvings with family and friends. Late in life he found great enjoyment in bowling with his league friends and dancing with the jolly mixers where he met his companion Wanda Hill. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday evening at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home 500 S. Ohio in Salina. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, Feb 3rd, at Belmont Boulevard Christian Church, 2508 Belmont Boulevard, Salina, Ks. Graveside services will be held at the Jamestown Cemetery at 2:30 PM Monday Feb 3rd. Memorials may be made to Belmont Boulevard Christian Church
