William Eugene 'Bill' Ulrich, Sr., 86, of Salina, passed away Wednesday, July 3rd, at home. Bill was born in Ellsworth, Kansas on October 7, 1926, to late Mary (Sless) and George Ulrich. Bill was a general contractor and apartment manager. He was also a lifetime member of Salina V.F.W. Post #1432. Bill lived a very active life centered around his family.They enjoyed many outdooractivities including, playing tennis, boating, skiing, and fishing. Bill also loved woodworking, art, and painting. He also played in the bell choir at Sunflower Adult Day Care Services. Besides his love for them, his family will remember his kind and generous spirit. Bill was the husband of Eleanor Teresa (Kueser) Ulrich. They were married on April 12, 1947 in Ellsworth, KS at the St. Bernard's Catholic Church. She precedes him in death. Bill's survivors include daughters, Genie Ulrich, of Salina, Peggy Copp, of Salina, and Mary (Keith) Kirk of Salina; sons, sons William 'Bill' (Terry) Ulrich, Jr., of Salina, and Dale (Karen) Ulrich, of Sabetha, Kansas; as well as, 22 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife; sister, Donna Campbell; and great great grandson, Gabriel Haverkamp. Cremation has been chosen and there is no visitation planned. A memorial service will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Salina, Kansas, at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, July 12th, with Fr. John Woleski officiating.
