Zella Mae King, 81, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, May 29th. Zella was born in rural Searcy County, Arkansas on April 26, 1938, a daughter of the late Edna M. (Morrison) and Troy Olen Nichols. Survivors include daughters, LaVeda Montgomery (Kent) of Solomon, Deb Campbell (Richard) of Wichita, Vicki Jones (Ivan) of Olsburg, and Nancy Swank (LeRoy) of Solomon; grandchildren, Jen (Jason), Jill (Noah), Jay (Kelly), Jeffrey (Grace), Brooke (Shiloh), Mason (Nichole), Maddy, Landon, Grant (Katie), Tyson (Katie), and Dyan (Justin); and 12 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Roy; brother, Nick Nichols; sisters, Doris Barkhurst and Mava Phillips; and great grandson, Knox. Funeral service will be Monday, June 3rd at 11:00 am at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, 500 S. Ohio Street, Salina, with Pastor Kent Happel officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service on Monday. Burial will be at Andover Cemetery, Andover, Kansas, at 3:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Music Theatre Kansas City or Hospice of Salina, sent in care of the funeral home.
